A Bit About Karen

I have always held a deep curiosity about the relationship between personal transformation, leadership, and systems change.

This inquiry has guided me to explore diverse modalities,  from wilderness therapy and community-based conservation to natural resource management, and, over the past 13 years, to support strategic and collaborative systems change work with Reos Partners on issues ranging from health and wellbeing to urban water resilience, climate action, and gender transformation.

Known for my systemic thinking, analytical rigour, and deep listening, I help organisations and teams build the collaborative capacity to navigate complexity and create meaningful change. Becoming an Integrated Attachment Theory (IAT) coach is a natural extension of this journey, bringing the inner dimension of transformation into focus. The approach has profoundly deepened my own sense of empowerment and flourishing, and I see it as a powerful modality for helping individuals, teams and organisations alike to live and lead with greater authenticity, agency, and purpose.

Integrated Attachment Theory (IAT)

Integrated Attachment Theory (IAT) is a neuroscience-informed, evidence-based approach developed by Thais Gibson, founder of the Personal Development School (PDS). It helps people understand and rewire the subconscious patterns that shape how they relate, lead, and live.

IAT starts from the understanding that up to 95% of our behaviours, emotional responses and thoughts are driven by the subconscious mind, shaped by the deeply held beliefs and unmet needs formed through early attachment experiences and life conditioning. Through IAT coaching, we bring these hidden dynamics and drives into conscious awareness and use structured, client-centred tools to bring our clients into full alignment, so that they can move forward with clarity, purpose and confidence.

I am a certified IAT coach through the Personal Development School, and I continue to be an active member of the PDS community. I hold a lifelong membership to access the school’s extensive platform of self-paced courses, resources, webinars and live support. For coaching clients, PDS membership can be a powerful complement to coaching, offering continued self-guided learning alongside or after our sessions. If you decide to enrol in PDS through my affiliate link, I will receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals who are navigating transition and seeking greater clarity, confidence, and alignment in their lives. Many of my clients are at pivotal crossroads: re-evaluating career direction; stepping into leadership; seeking deeper meaning and fulfilment in work and life.

I have a particular passion for working with women in midlife,  especially those moving through peri- to post-menopausal transition, to build their confidence, clarity and direction for their next chapter of life.

While I currently focus on individual coaching, I also work with teams and partnerships seeking to strengthen trust, communication, and alignment — bringing together the inner and relational dimensions of systems change.

Coaching Approach

My practice is guided by four key principles:

  • Safety: I create a confidential, non-judgmental space where people feel safe to be honest, vulnerable, and real.

  • Freedom: I honour each person’s autonomy: clients choose what they explore, how deep they go, and the pace of their own process.

  • Compassionate Accountability: I hold space with empathy and firmness, recognising that while our past isn’t our fault, our growth and transformation is our responsibility.

  • Empowerment: I see every person as inherently whole and capable, and I help them translate insight into meaningful, sustained change.
