About the event
Every coaching relationship crosses some kind of difference, whether of culture, class, faith, generation, gender or life experience. This webinar is aimed toward equipping coaches to see differences as distinctions, features of a client’s life that are worth understanding and honouring, and to approach each client the way a good neighbour welcomes someone to their table.
We will explore strategies for hospitality, including preparation prior to each session. Part of that preparation is coaches reflecting on their own social location and the assumptions they may carry into the room. Coaches will be challenged to develop questions that center their client’s context, and to practise methods that allow authentic cultural exchanges, where coach and client both learn from each other.
Participants will leave with a simple pre-session preparation practice and a set of context-centred questions they can adapt for their own clients.
